a little bit of everything

Hi! I’m Lauryn, but most people know me as Lo. Here’s the rundown: I’m a fresh 26 with a prefrontal cortex that just clicked into place and a brand new insurance plan. I’m a master at wandering through life aimlessly, planning on nothing but also everything, going wherever the wind blows but also diligently planning out the next five years of my life. You too? Cool.

I was born and raised in Canton, NY, and went to college at SUNY New Paltz where I got my degree in Sociology with minors in Spanish and Law and Politics. It’s a mouthful, I know. I moved to Providence, Rhode Island in the summer of 2023 where I’m teaching seventh grade ELA and getting my Masters in Social Work.

Starting a blog isn’t special, tons of people out there are doing it or have already done it. I can actually list about ten other woman-run blogs that will most likely offer you more concise advice, helpful tips, and noteworthy life lessons. I’m really just here for the ride, and for the small chance that what I’m writing is going to reach someone out there and resonate with them.

I have a lot of thoughts on a lot of different topics, and I’ve been writing in some capacity since I was like, ten. I have a hefty collection of (mostly half filled) notebooks and journals and Google Docs and weird sticky notes where my thoughts have been collecting dust. I thought, what better way to put all of them in one place? And so was born The Little Bit. My hope is that it becomes a hub for baking, reading, running, and creativity of any kind. Therapy, personal growth, and finding community. Navigating adult relationships (romantic and platonic), managing mental health, and keeping up with physical health, all whilst enduring the trials and tribulations that come with simply being a woman. Sex, birth control, OB-GYN appointments. Breakups, makeups, and the in-betweens. Failures, successes, and the ruts we get stuck in along the way. Stories that will make you laugh and cry and think, “Who left this girl unsupervised?”
